SVP, Portfolio Management (Specialty Finance Lending)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Underwrite highly structured transactions backed by portfolios of secured revolving and/or amortizing loans/leases using asset-backed structuring techniquesPrepare thorough credit underwriting identifying industry concerns, focus issues, weaknesses and mitigants, market share trends, financial trends and other pertinent underwriting issues.Manage approvals regarding lending commitments, amendments and waivers to credit facilities, as well as monitor and report to senior Credit Risk Executives the financial performance of portfolio facilities.Add value by recommending appropriate changes to transaction structures including alternative financing options in support of origination, credit underwriting and ultimate syndicationMaintain active client dialogue and meet with current and prospective clients as required.  Active due dliligence is required to assess management strength, broaden knowledge of clients, and address any credit conditions of approval. Analyze financial statements, interpret and/or model cash flows, establish risk ratings, undertake due diligence at client locations, and prepare credit evaluations.  Keep abreast of industry and market trends.Evaluate hedge requirements and make recommendations to manage interest rate and/or FX riskMonitor accounts to ensure timely follow-up for covenant violations; financial statement submission; maturity date renewals; past due reporting, and other monthly and quarterly portfolio monitoring tools as necessary.Work with legal counsel to negotiate documentation.Train Underwriting/Portfolio Management associates on structured products.Maintain strong asset quality within the KCBSFL portfolioEnsure compliance with KeyCorp and KCBSFL policies and proceduresParticipate in special projects, as necessaryEnsure the proper utilization of credit systems and technology.Travel, as required for due diligence, client meetings, industry conferences, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, economics or related fieldMinimum 10 years credit underwriting experience covering large complex transactions within structured finance or specialty finance or an an acceptable combination of credit underwriting tenure vs. industry-specific experience  Strong knowledge of financial analysis applications (e.g., Moody’s Credit Lens)Strong oral & written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailStrong working relationships across functional departments, including peers, sales leaders, operations, legal, structuring, asset management, syndications and external clientsWorking knowledge of rating agency methodologies for structured finance productsPractical understanding of the core concepts behind structured productsStrong leadership and management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of commercial banking credit processesMBA and/or CFA designationSecuritization experienceAsset-based lending experienceExposure to capital markets/syndicated transactions

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $130,000 to $160,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
