SVP, Post Production
Job Summary:

We are looking for a collaborative and creative team player who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for great storytelling and filmmaking that define Lucasfilm.

Reporting to the EVP, Physical Production, the SVP, Post Production is responsible for setting the strategy, direction and technical standards of all aspects of post production content for all Lucasfilm’s projects.

What you’ll do

Responsible for ensuring that post production for all Lucasfilm productions meets Lucasfilm, Production and The Walt Disney Studio (TWDS) objectives

Evolving post production workflow with technological innovations driven by streaming, StageCraft, etc.

Responsible for management of the post production budget and schedule, ensuring timely delivery

Responsible for negotiating key post production talent agreements (composer, editors, Post Producers)

Determines post production requirements for all Lucasfilm productions and oversees execution accordingly

Spearhead problem solving and crisis management resolution with studio partners and outside producers on all post production issues.

Interact and negotiate with key creatives and top management to convince and influence business strategies.

Build and maintain a team by attracting, developing and retaining high performing talent through strong leadership, effective management and thoughtful mentorship

Develop and maintain relationships with talent, both creative and technical

In partnership with Legal and Business Affairs, oversees all post production casting and talent deals

Manages and mentors Post Production department 

Key member of the Lucasfilm executive team

What we’re looking for

BA/BS degree in a related field; MBA or equivalent experience is highly desirable.

15+ years of post production experience in the entertainment industry

Proven track record of identifying and delivering commercially viable opportunities.

Strong negotiation skills.

Strong presentation and analytical skills.

Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Able to work collaboratively and comfortable being a significant contributor  with a strong track record working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams around a shared vision.

Relevant worldwide contacts within film and entertainment industries.

Consensus builder who is also comfortable with respectfully challenging assumptions.

Driven to do what is needed to achieve objectives in the pace of the business.

Self-motivated self-starter who can chart a path and follow through without supervision.

Comfortable with ambiguity and able to engage at both strategic and tactical levels


The hiring range for this position in San Francisco is $447,400 - $578,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
