Job Details The Senior Vice President of Supply Chain plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the procurement process within Catholic Health. Reporting directly to the SVP, Corporate Finance, Strategic Planning & Implementation, this leadership position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in procurement, supply chain management, and vendor relations within the healthcare industry. The SVP is responsible for managing and optimizing the supply chain processes to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of medical products, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services. This role involves coordinating with various departments, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain inventory levels, minimize costs, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Oversee and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of essential medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. Implement inventory control systems to prevent overstocking and stock outs. Conduct regular audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Procurement: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure favorable agreements that meet quality standards, cost objectives, and project timelines. Ensure the timely procurement of quality products and services. Logistics and Distribution: Coordinate the transportation and distribution of medical supplies and equipment. Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the transportation of medical products. Supply Chain Optimization: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives. Evaluate and optimize the supply chain to minimize risks and maximize efficiency. This includes assessing current procurement processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to streamline operations and reduce costs. Identify potential bottlenecks, disruptions, or opportunities for improvement in the procurement process and take proactive measures to address them. Utilize data analytics to forecast demand and plan supply chain activities. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all procured materials, equipment, and services meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Establish quality assurance protocols, inspection procedures, and compliance checks to uphold the company's reputation for excellence. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including FDA and ISO. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement activities, such as supply chain disruptions, vendor risk assessments, supply chain security, market fluctuations, or geopolitical issues. Develop contingency plans, alternative sourcing strategies, and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard against unforeseen challenges. Monitor and report on supply chain risks and performance metrics. Budgeting and Cost Control: Work closely with finance and project management teams to develop procurement budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives. Monitor expenses, track procurement metrics, and implement cost-control measures to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints. Team Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and invest in professional development initiatives to empower team members and enhance their skills. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with healthcare providers, finance, and operations teams to align supply chain activities with organizational goals. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment. Provide training and support to staff on supply chain processes and best practices. Technology and Market Insight: Leverage supply chain management software and tools to enhance efficiency. Stay updated on the latest technology trends and innovations in supply chain management. Stay at the forefront of industry developments and emerging market trends, incorporating relevant innovations and technologies into company practices. Utilize market data to negotiate contracts and terms with vendors, optimizing pricing, terms, and conditions. Develop and implement procurement strategies informed by comprehensive market analysis, including tracking market indices, economic indicators, and supply chain trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, within the healthcare industry. Proven track record of leadership experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields, preferably within the healthcare industry. Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Deep understanding of procurement best practices, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, SAP, Oracle, etc. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Salary Range USD $375,000.00 - USD $450,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
