SUMMARY

BSPS, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Swimming Pool Operator for the 29 Palms MCAGCC BOS Contract. This individual is responsible for the overall maintenance and operation of the 29 Palms MCAGCC site pools and water parks.

$22.65/hour

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain water quality according to and above state standards to include: Required Chemical check, addressing water chemistry issues, and maintaining a vacuum scheduleMaintain a safe and clean pool deck areasInspect safety equipment Maintain a functional and organized pump roomClean filters and filter basketsChemical controllers are calibrated and functionalKeep chemical stock on handPerform other work related duties as assigned Qualifications

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)

Two Years Experience Pool TechnicianCalifornia Pool Operator CertificationMust be able to move, lift, and handle pool chemicals responsiblyMust be a team player with focus on safety and customer serviceHigh Scholl Diploma or equivalentValid California Drivers License

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Knowledge of pool chemicalsKnowledge of pool equipment and troubleshootingGood customer service, people skills

Preferred

Five Years Experience working as pool operator/technicianDOD Contract Experience

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires working outdoors and driving in extreme heat/cold and possibly raining weather. Employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. Lifting and/or moving items weighing 50-75 pounds is required. Use of hand tools to perform the job.

Minor supervisory responsibilities over pool technicians

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
