Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

The Swing Cook supports the Sous Chefs with controlling the pre-set food par levels, maintaining inventory and ordering guides, and controlling food waste. This position is a supporting role in supervising and training all other culinary levels for consistency in outlined desired product and proper sanitation standards.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Prepare all food items according to prep sheets and standardized recipes with speed and consistency of quality, using safe food handling procedures.*

Exhibit organized mise en place while maintaining ownership and efficiency of a station set-up as outlined during service and at the end of shift.*

Assist with training new staff and mentor interns through proper processes and procedures.*

Lead current staff members by developing, coaching, delegating, motivating, and providing direction and support to all culinary levels under consistent standards set by Sous Chefs.*

Suggest and implement new approved kitchen procedures for improved efficiency and training modules.*

Provide direction and support to all staff members in the absence of a Sous Chef.*

Assist with the research and development of new menu items, maintaining an open and collaborative mindset within a team setting.*

Ensure kitchen and catering event orders are updated and communicated for each event to include all food items, staffing coverage, and special requests.*

Label, date, and rotate all products properly for safe food handling procedures. Maintain safe, clean, and sanitized work areas.*

Assist and support duties of the utility/dish and warehouse personnel to maintain operations.*

Perform all other duties assigned by Sous Chefs as needed.

 Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of related experience.

Industry Experience - Commercial Kitchen

Post-Employment - ServSafe Food Handler, ServSafe Allergen, RAMP

Certificate of Completion - Culinary Arts

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Display versatility of cooking skill set and stamina to work in a production kitchen and within multiple hotline kitchens.

Must possess a positive attitude with a professional appearance and demeanor.

Must display solid culinary knowledge, understanding of all knife skills, and various cooking techniques.
