Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Switch Technician - b.

The hours for this role are 7:00am to 3:30pm

The hourly rate for this position is $20-$24 per hour.

What you’ll do:

"This position provides EHS and sustainability leadership to 10 sites within the Residential & Wiring Devices (RWD) division under the direction of the ARS EHS Group Leader and in conjunction with RWD leadership.  Incumbent is accountable for the following: identifying and managing significant environmental aspects and health and safety hazards; assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics; managing interfaces with governmental authorities; supporting actions during and following crises; supporting medical case management; ensures that all facilities are in compliance with applicable Federal, Country, State and local laws and fulfillment of all Eaton Corporation EHS and Security objectives.     

 

The incumbent is responsible for providing technical and tactical support within the assigned business including defining objectives and targets; investigation of incidents and establishment of corrective and preventive action plans; communication of regulatory requirements; identifying and sharing transferrable practices, evaluating, and developing EHS talent, and providing necessary support for site EHS programs.

In addition, this role provides direct EHS support to the Peachtree City, GA facility. 

Ensure MESH programs are implemented at sites, aligned with Eaton requirements that foster a Zero incident culture with a focus on the establishment of sound policies and goals, a preventative approach, and promotion of environmental and safety stewardship.Facilitates forums for knowledge and sharing of best practices across various EHS programs including integration of Corporate, Group, and ARS Divisional EHS initiatives.Creates and deploys a Strategy for achieving the Business Leadership goals for EHS and Sustainability in alignment with the ES/ESA/ARS Organization.  Supports EHS risk assessment initiatives and risk mitigation (including security).Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification (e.g., ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration, VPP), maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data.  Build organizational capability by providing functional leadership for site EHS Leaders, and EHS mentorship, training and development of EHS professionals to ensure the appropriate technical and functional competencies. Supports the investigation process of incidents to determine root causes and prepares/directs corrective and preventive action plans.  Identify and determine correction action for systemic EHS issues within the region. 


 

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent technical field.  (Advance degree in one applicable area preferred)
• Minimum of 7 years experience in one or more of the applied areas and 5 years working in a business or manufacturing setting.  
 

Skills:

• Expert knowledge of industry, state, and country EHS requirements. 
• Working knowledge of cross-functional EHS disciplines
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
• Professional certification Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent preferred"
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional team-building skills and demonstrated ability to lead through influence at all levels inside and outside Company 
• Strong organizational skills including ability to manage large number of disparate projects and to track projects through completion
• Ability to demonstrate the Eaton leadership attributes: 
• Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams
