The role you’ll contribute:

Operates entire Telecommunications System PBX switchboard which includes paging of personnel and physicians, paging appropriate emergency codes and notifying personnel. Answers incoming calls. Places outgoing calls as needed. Announces the ending of visiting hours. Announces fire drills, actual fire alarms, disaster drills and actual disasters when required. Establishes a positive contact with the public by communicating precise information to families and visitors.

Always answers calls (Internal & External) in a professional manner. Provides excellent customer service. Greets callers in a friendly and courteous manner

Locate and direct calls for patient information.

Is familiar with the physical layout of the hospital so appropriate directions can be given to customers.

Resolves the concerns of visitors in a professional manner.

Maintainaccurate logs for on-call departments and on-call nursing supervisor. Log of Chaplain coverage and document contacts.

Monitor all panels in communications to include: 1.) Code Blue 2.) Generator Tests 3.) Gas Alarms 4.) In-house emergency line 5.) Room pressurization 6.) Elevators

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

High school diploma or equivalent.
