Position Summary:
We are seeking qualified and enthusiastic applicants to join our Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) team as SYEP Site Monitors. Under the supervision of the Job Developer, the SYEP Site Monitor will serve as a primary point of contact for work site employers and program participants aged 16-24. This role includes responsibilities such as data entry, participant interviews, site monitoring, and supporting the overall success of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Maintain a professional attitude and represent the program with high standards.
+ Conduct pre-assessments of work sites prior to participant placement.
+ Assist with participant enrollment and collection of required documentation.
+ Conduct weekly work site visits to check in with participants, complete written assessments, and ensure safe, productive environments.
+ Retrieve and verify weekly timesheets, evaluations, and job placement referrals for each participant.
+ Audit participant and work site files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
+ Build professional relationships with work site supervisors and program participants.
+ Address and resolve work site or participant issues, escalating concerns to supervisors when necessary.
+ Ensure all time sheets and documentation are accurate and completed on time.
+ Demonstrate appropriate boundaries with participants, parents, work sites, and colleagues.
+ Maintain accurate client records and program statistics to meet agency and funder requirements.
+ Assist with program closeout processes and audits.
+ Attend all job-related trainings and workshops.
+ Support overall SYEP operations and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
+ Strong commitment to customer service and ability to build productive relationships.
+ Detail-oriented, highly organized, and dependable, with experience in managing paperwork and meeting deadlines.
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
+ Positive role model for young people, with demonstrated ability to relate effectively to youth.
+ Flexible and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
+ Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, including heritage, traditions, life experiences, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Proficient in computer programs, with a willingness to learn new tools.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate discretion.
+ Available to work through August 23, 2025.
+ Ability to travel to various worksites within the boroughs via public transportation.
+ Must complete required clearances, including NYS DOH Fingerprinting Screening, NYS Clearance Review Background Check, three reference checks, and a physical exam with an updated TB test.
Additional Details:
This is a temporary position with potential opportunities for permanent employment. The ideal work period is from May 1 to August 31, 2025, though a later start date may be accommodated. Staff must be available to work through August 23, 2025.
