Job Posting: Sylvan @ Schools Tutor for Los Angeles Area Schools

Overview:
Sylvan Learning, the industry leader in supplemental education, is seeking dedicated Tutors to join our team in the Los Angeles area to provide tutoring on school sites.  The majority of this tutoring will occur at local elementary schools providing essential reading and math tutoring.

Locations:
We have a participating school in the Downtown LA area.

Duration:
Sylvan @ Schools Tutors can expect to work during the school year and on some summer contracts depending on need and avaiability.

Compensation:
- Training $18/hr

-$24.00-$25.00

Schedule:
- Tutors can expect to tutor/be paid to tutor 3-4 hours, Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. Tutors will be assigned to a specific school.

Start date: January 2025

Responsibilities:
- Deliver guided, scripted curriculum to groups of up to 8 students on local school campuses within a 2-mile radius of the Sylvan Hub Location.
- Set up and manage the learning environment, utilizing Sylvan's proven programs.
- Motivate students with resources from our on-site toy store.
- Collaborate with Program Manager and Director to ensure smooth program execution.
- Attend online training provided by Sylvan and participate in shadowing experiences.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or 2-years college completion toward 4-year degree required 
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must have reliable transportation.

- Must obtain a TB clearance and complete a livescan background check
