This Advanced Custom Manufacturing Associate is part of the Synthetic Biology value stream located in Coralville, IA and will work on-site. At IDT, we are one global team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Be responsible for handling orders that fall outside of standard manufacturing processes including development of protocols for, programs, uses, and maintains equipment used in the departmental tasks and processes. + Assist in the creation and execution of customized solutions to meet specific customer requirements and the development, automation, and implementation of novel processes and products within IDT. This includes providing and supporting knowledge and process transfer to transition projects to R&D, Platform Development, or production. + Collaborate cross functionally within IDT to support the completion of complex and specialized projects for key opinion leaders and high value customers. Collaborate with team to make decisions regarding a product’s path and attributes to meet customer requirements. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, or related science field required or equivalent combination of education and experience required. + Minimum of three years wet lab experience using nucleic acids (cloning, PCR, NGS, CRISPR or similar) required. + Experience with lab automation and liquid handling required It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Previous industry experience, particularly synthetic biology related applications, preferred. Proficiency in data analysis preferred. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail. Ability to identify problems and use a combination of knowledge, intuition, and experience to solve problems. + Ability to probe skillfully and develop strategies for success even when detailed information or methods are lacking.
