Sys VP Population Health Physician Executive
**Overview** The purpose of Dignity Health Management Services Organization (Dignity Health MSO) is to build a system-wide integrated physician-centric full-service management service organization structure. We offer a menu of management and business services that will leverage economies of scale across provider types and geographies and will lead the effort in developing Dignity Health’s Medicaid population health care management pathways. Dignity Health MSO is dedicated to providing quality managed care administrative and clinical services to medical groups hospitals health plans and employers with a business objective to excel in coordinating patient care in a manner that supports containing costs while continually improving quality of care and levels of service. CommonSpirit Health is pleased to announce the formal launch of our national value-based services platform, Population Health Services Organization (PHSO). The PHSO centralizes our national value-based expertise and service capabilities and establishes a platform to serve our value hubs across our footprint. As we continue down the road of creating “One CommonSprit,” the PHSO is a major step forward in our ability to leverage our size and scale to provide services that will support value-based care performance, strengthen our networks, and help us keep pace with the evolving reimbursement landscape. As it is built out, the PHSO will align to a system strategy set in partnership with our national Population Health team, and partner with value hubs to provide a portfolio of population health services such as network management, care coordination, data management and analytics, technology infrastructure, reporting and more to help our provider networks excel in value-based care. Local markets will increasingly be able to access high quality standardized tools and fill any capability gaps they may currently have. Other benefits include Paid Time Off and Sick Leave. **Responsibilities** This role is the key clinical executive for the Population Health Services Organization, responsible for providing the clinical vision, strategy, and agenda to enable national Population Health across the system. The position has three primary domains of responsibility: 1) Establish clinical strategy to be scaled across Value Hubs and Managed Care organization. 2) Drive advancement of clinical excellence, clinical performance / accountability, and clinical alignment across physicians. 3) Partner with Managed Care and Population Health operations teams to bring uniform and cohesive clinical services across all patient populations. As a leader with extensive clinical experience for large health systems, this National leader will serve as a senior executive on the Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) team, reporting to the System Senior Vice President of Population Health. **Essential Key Job Responsibilities** 1. Lead the development and execution of progressive clinical and operational strategies to optimize services, grow the organization, and transform Value Based Care. 2. Provide strategic guidance and oversight for the Clinical Strategy, Clinical Services, Quality and Risk, and Provider Relations functions within the PHSO 3. Develop, mentor, and lead administrative and clinical teams to scale clinical care, quality, and provider relations services, ensuring performance and compliance requirements are met. 4. Drive the standardization and optimization of Population Health clinical and quality services across the regional Value Hub networks, including independent provider partners. 5. Provide strategic guidance and Health Plan expertise in partnership with the Managed Care COO, to drive contract compliance and successful management of the Managed Care Population. 6. Oversee all assigned medical directors for the PHSO, ensuring a culture of open, progressive communication, collaboration and mutual understanding between all Medical Directors and Physicians across all other partnering departments. 7. Develops engagement strategies for independent community physicians, hospital-based physicians and other physician groups across markets with the goal of building cohesion around common clinical vision, aligned strategic and economic incentives and advancing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. 8. Maintain a visible presence with key stakeholders, informing them of strategies, healthcare trends, and legislation. 9. Form strategies to align physicians with broader system goals, oriented toward population health management. 10. Support a multidisciplinary, outcome-driven approach to providing a consistent patient experience with predictable outcomes and the highest standards of healthcare delivery. 11. Guide the integration of physicians into the strategic direction of CommonSpirit and the PHSO, ensuring alignment with its mission and optimizing market position. 12. Engages physicians in the expansion of established hospital-centric clinical service lines into clinical service lines that span the Service Area and have a population health management orientation. 13. Build effective relationships with partners, payors, businesses, customers, and the community. 14. Continuously improve department/unit performance, monitoring alignment with budget, operating, and strategic plans. 15. Participate in setting organizational policy and ensure its application across the organization. 16. Understand fiduciary responsibility to the community, operating consistently with the organization's ethics and mission in managing resources to produce high-quality care and satisfaction. **Qualifications** Required Education and Experience + Minimum of eight (8) years of clinical experience in specialty. + Minimum of five years (5) of direct management / people manager experience in health care. + Medical degree or DO degree with an active medical license required. Required Licensure and Certifications + Current, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least one US state or territory and prior (or current) Board Certification in a specialty are required. + If the physician is clinically active, a current, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine must be in the state where the assigned facility operates and the Board Certification must be current. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training + Progressive leadership in a large, complex, and integrated healthcare system + Understanding of Healthcare Industry's trending direction and regulatory considerations; ability to identify and implement national and market level opportunities. + Healthcare operational and financial acumen and knowledge and experience leading complex and innovative delivery models. + Strong communication skills, and ability to interface with both administrative and clinical leaders. + Expertise in process improvement methodology and disciplines; ability to lead/create a culture of process improvement. + Training and experience in change management, ability to lead organizations through prolonged periods of change.
