We have an exciting job opportunity for a System Administrator. System Administrators are responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of an organization's computer systems. They ensure the smooth operation of IT infrastructure and provide technical support to end-users. This role requires a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI. While a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, equivalent experience is also considered. While certifications are preferred, they are not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
System Configuration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software patches. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation. Security Management: Implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, viruses, and other cyber threats. Conduct regular security audits and apply patches and updates as needed. User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up user accounts, and resolving connectivity problems. Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect data integrity and minimize downtime. Test backup systems regularly to ensure reliability. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate reports on system performance, capacity, and security. Automation and Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline system administration processes. Implement automation tools and scripts to improve efficiency. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support organizational goals and initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in system administration or a related role. Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills
