System AdministratorJob DescriptionResponsible for the administration of one or more of the following data systems: Computer systems hardware, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, printers and storage devices. Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems, administers operating systems, and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as scheduling and backups. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.Roles and Responsibilities:
Serves as System AdministratorExhibits proficiency in vulnerability assessment, OS & software upgrades, patching, and maintenanceProvides hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations supportSupports building, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgradesSupports, diagnoses, and corrects computer, server and network system issuesProvides continuous status information to ensure customer satisfactionInitiates customer contact, escalates to appropriate parties and resolves incidentsAnswers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing technical problemsResponds to technical issues as they ariseEnsures consistent technical direction and understanding between government and contractor staffMinimum Requirements:
Professional hands-on experience in design and implementation of the following technologies: Windows/Linux virtualization, Windows Server 2019, Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, storage technologies, Host-Base Security System, backup software solutions, and patch management solutionsAssist in evaluation, development, and deployment of large IT system of systems architectures involving both hardware and software componentsExcellent oral and written communications skillsCustomer focused with a desire to ensure successDesire to continue to learn and growEducation:
Associates Degree and 5 years’ experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years’ experience. Relevant experience and certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.Security Clearance Requirements:
Position requires that candidate possess or be able to acquire an active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility and Counterintelligence Polygraph in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible to support this position.Certifications:
Candidate must have cyber security qualifications IAW DoD 8570 standards upon employment.Security+ CECISSPAdditional Desired Skill Sets:
Experience with COMSEC equipmentTACLANE KG175, KG250Secure Key LoadersExperience with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)Experience configuring systems for DOD Special Access Programs IAW JSIG requirementsExperience with machine virtualization including transitioning legacy products to virtualized productsExperience with vulnerability scanning software and vulnerability mitigation techniquesBENEFITS
