System Administrator
Amentum is seeking a mid-level **System Administrator** to provide support for a Department of Defense (DoD) customer in **Springfield, VA** . The System Administrator will be a part of a small, cohesive team supporting several geographically dispersed, medium-sized secure networks running the latest Microsoft products and operating systems. This position will require minimal travel, primarily in and around the Springfield, VA area, in support of remote client locations. A successful candidate must have superb communication and organizational skills, as they will be directly interacting with the client daily and must be able to manage and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner. Candidates must also be knowledgeable of Microsoft based networks and applications and should be familiar with current DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations governing information systems. **Job Responsibilities:** + Support an enterprise-wide help desk solution that covers multiple network locations. + Be familiar with and implement group policies, host and client access, access rights, and user account maintenance. + Research, evaluate, install, configure, and troubleshoot all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives. + Maintain proficiency in and conduct all activities associated with patch management, software installation, maintenance, and upgrades. + Secure all network equipment in compliance with appropriate Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP/XCCDF), or similar standards, including the associated configurations and operating system updates, in order to meet DoD regulatory compliance. + Monitor system logs and activity on all systems, servers, and supporting devices. + Maintain knowledge and use of ACAS, HBSS, WSUS, and similar maintenance systems to secure DoD networks. + Perform scheduled and unscheduled backups of critical information systems, verifying their success. + Stay current with existing and future technologies, identifying ways to leverage technological solutions against current problem sets. + Participate in the development and testing of custom software applications to support client needs. + Coordinate efforts under the general supervision of the IT Manager; perform additional tasks as deemed necessary to meet customer requirements and deadlines. **Minimum Qualifications:** + **Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility** **and be able to pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph if required. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.** + At least 4 years of experience with following: + Microsoft Windows based environments. + Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and basic TCP/IP and basic network troubleshooting. + Microsoft operating systems and applications; Windows Server 2019, Windows 10//11 Enterprise, MS Office 2019/365. + Current Security+ or other DoD Approved 8140/8570 IAT II certification required for this work role. + Current Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ104) certification required. + Superb communication and organizational skills. + Strong listening, analysis, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work both independently and within a structured team. **Other Requirements:** + This is a non-remote, full-time onsite position. + Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of environments installing, configuring, and maintaining IT/network related equipment. + Occasional travel is required (0-10%). **Preferred Qualifications:** + Previous experience working with DoD and classified networks. + Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures. + Experience working with PowerShell to develop and implement custom scripts and automation capabilities.
