System Administrator

PCSI is looking for a Systems Administrator to join our IT team! This role administers Microsoft 365 services, SaaS applications, workstations, network infrastructure components, and a variety of other technical services and components. This includes administering platforms for identity and access management, mail, collaboration and document management, device management, security, and compliance. The Systems Administrator also provides tier two support for internal information workers and acts as a knowledge resource for our IT Support Technicians. 

We are looking for someone well-versed in Microsoft 365 services, with a focus on SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Defender, Purview, and Intune. This position is based out of our corporate office in south Austin, TX.

What You'll Do as a Systems Administrator:

Responsible for the lifecycle management of workstations including testing, ordering, deploying, documenting, supporting, and retiring workstations. Responsible for procuring, deploying, documenting, supporting, and retiring network infrastructure components including wireless access points, network switches, and firewalls. Responsible for determining hardware and software needs of information workers. This includes researching, testing, and creating proof of concepts of new hardware and software products. Monitor software licensing and maintenance agreements. Responsible for Tier 2 service desk support for information worker system implementations, problem troubleshooting, repair/fix, and ongoing support process improvements. Act as a knowledge resource for the Tier 1 service desk team members. Responsible for configuring, deploying, and patching Windows workstations using mobile device management tools such as Intune. Manage Microsoft 365 services including identity and access management, mail, collaboration and document management platforms, device management, security, and compliance. Responsible for supporting access and usage of SaaS applications such as finance, human capital management, learning management, quality management, and contract lifecycle management systems. Provide support using a variety of methods including, in-person, phone, email, chat, and remote support tools. Create, maintain, and influence IT standard operating procedures and policies. Work with vendors to order products and resolve complex technical problems. Work on projects as assigned by senior IT staff.

What You'll Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field is desired, or combination of education and equivalent experience. Experience in IT is required, four years preferred. Knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewall policies strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Advanced proficiency in Windows operating systems (Windows 10 and 11) and Microsoft 365 applications required. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365 cloud services such as identity management (Entra ID), mail (Exchange Online), collaboration and document management platforms (Teams and SharePoint), device management (Intune), security (Defender), and compliance (Purview). Intermediate proficiency with networking; including DNS, DHCP, firewall policies, routing, and an understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 networking models. Intermediate proficiency with remote support solutions. Intermediate proficiency using a service desk solution.

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel by air up to 15%. Ability to pass criminal and financial background checks. Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
