System Administrator/AWS Cloud Engineer Lead

Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/ AWS Cloud Engineer/Functional Lead to enhance our existing technical team supporting the advancement of AI/ML/Data Science technologies, in Herndon, VA. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative, cloud engineer to join in and contribute to a team environment. The candidate will lead a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment. This position requires a broad knowledge of system administration, knowledge of automation technologies, and scripting. This position also requires a knowledge of security and accreditation practices and procedures the ability to work with several enterprise resources and teams in the operation of an enterprise digitization infrastructure

TS/SCI with polygraph required Day 1

MANDATORY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment; demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure with AWS.

Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle.

Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).

Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).

Experience with security, such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.

Experience working with Login.gov sandbox environments.

Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.

Experience using a scripting language.

Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.

Normally requires a minimum of 16 full years of experience specific to the skill or occupation. Formal Education can be exchanged for some years of experience. (Related BS degree plus a minimum of 13 full years of experience specific to the skill or occupation or other combinations would be acceptable). SME's should be capable of mentoring or training other team members and sharing their expertise.

MANDATORY BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS

Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating performance activities, timecard approvals, attending interviews, developing personal growth opportunities, and other administrative duties as needed.

Expert in managing personnel across several teams, working with PM’s overseeing work progress, and adjusting process and procedures to help teams achieve a high level of productivity.

Proven ability to work with various stakeholders both internal and external and help negotiate solutions across a variety of systems and platforms and products.

Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, lead meetings, gather requirements, and document results with the goal to drive solutions.

Support the Program Manager in resource leveling, planning, reporting, and CDRL required documentation.

Proficiency in Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, JIRA).

Optional Skills/Certifications

Experience with Agile software development principles and methodologies.

The salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 272,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
