Summary
Specify, install, support and maintain all Company-owned servers and other computer systems. Time permitting, installing and maintaining program-purchased equipment, as requested by Programs. Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems.
The Information Systems (IS) Security Officer is responsible for managing the Program IS infrastructure in conjunction with the Company Information Systems (IS) Security Manager. This is a hands-on position that includes analysis of requirements, proposing solutions, and participating in project implementations, and on-going support of the IS infrastructure. The objective of this position is to meet customer requirements while continually improving operating efficiencies by enhancing the IS processes.

Systems Administrator Functions
• Perform routine audits of systems and software, maintain backup software media, and maintain records documenting purchase/acquisition of all Company-owned software, and trouble-shoot and repair
• Perform regular backups, ensure integrity of backup systems & backup tapes, and retain backups for all systems in accordance with approved plans
• Apply updates, patches and configuration changes to existing equipment and serve as a liaison with vendors
• Add, remove and update user account information
• Document system configuration
• Responding to technical inquiries
• Apply various analysis tools and techniques to identify, develop, procure, implement, and support IS solutions that increase quality, productivity, and overall effectiveness of the Company departments
• Facilitate current corporate management, business development, operations management, and program management reporting and processes
• Research and facilitate system requirements for information systems to improve current business processes and improve management visibility
• Performs cost-benefit analyses of candidate Information System solutions.
• Keeps system users informed of progress and updates
• Serves as a secondary information resource for IS users, including determination of the most appropriate data source, providing or arranging application-based report writing, or educating users to retrieve the information for themselves.
• Adheres to company and client department policies on information security and confidentiality.
• Coordinates the inclusion of other staff and technical resources as necessary.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Must be able to perform the duties of the Help Desk Technician and Network and Software administrator.
Information Systems Security Officer Functions
• Use ACAS to perform scans and determine security requirements to meet DoD and DISA standards on the C5 LCMS and ATS/WST networks
• Perform general administration and conduct routine security audits of systems and software.
• Perform regular backups, ensure integrity of backup systems & media for all systems in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
• Participate in risk assessment procedures for verification of Assessment and Accreditation RMF safeguards.
• Apply updates, patches and configuration changes to systems.
• Document all system changes and security activities as required.
• Administrator user account information and ensure all proper account management documentation is completed prior to adding/deleting IS accounts.
• Maintain security-related and system related documentation and ensure it is accessible to appropriate individuals.
• Ensure security controls are applied to software, hardware, and firmware according to appropriate security configuration guidelines (e.g., Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)/Security Requirement Guides (SRG).
• Participate in incident response by applying protective or corrective measures, in coordination with the security manager, when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered.
• Report security incidents or vulnerabilities to the ISSM and FSO.
• Maintain network security.
• Conducting periodic assessments of authorized ISs and providing corrective actions for all identified findings and vulnerabilities to the ISSM.
• Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments of the information systems.
• Completes required technical and security training relative to assigned duties.
• Continuously monitor and report improvements for information systems.
• Support system users with technical requests and keep them informed of progress and updates.
• Works with Information System Technology and Security Department on enterprise cyber security initiatives.
• Act as a backup for ISSM-related tasks on all accredited systems, including documentation updates, user security briefings, and auditing.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures for information security and risk management.
• Coordinate the inclusion of other staff and technical resources as necessary.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Expected Hours of Work
A standard 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines and client requirements.
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a computer related field and 3 years’ experience, or equivalent combined education and work experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
A Security+ certification or another relevant certification that complies with the DoDM 8140.03 DCWF requirements for the ISSO position is required.
Citizenship
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend, calculate and apply principles of business math.
Computer Skills
Complete familiarity with implementation, configuration, and management of Microsoft and Linux server and workstation operating systems, firewall, switches, and related network information systems. Experienced and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software tools; including word processors, spreadsheets, presentation graphics and databases.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to identify and define problems, gather and analyze relevant data, establish facts, and draw sound, logical conclusions.
