Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a System Admin – Network Tools professional to support a major national laboratory.

The department this position supports provides world class IT Infrastructure service for the end users in support of the mission and national security. They will be responsible for providing modern telecommunications systems for data, telephone, wireless LAN, RF Microwave, and encryption capabilities with emphasis on securing and protecting the client’s information, standardization, and reducing heterogeneity. These services are provided in an effective and proactive manner, using customer support, applications, and data necessary.

Responsibilities Deploy and maintain production of Windows/Linux operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks, VoIP, and filesystems.Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packagesContinually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levelsWork with Enterprise IT Configuration Management automation tools/approaches Qualifications Associate's Degree in IT related field plus 4 years of IT experience
In lieu of a degree, 3 years of IT can be substituted totaling 7 years of  IT experience U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance.Experience in Windows/Linux System AdministrationExperience in Apache, Ngnix, haproxyWorking knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, and LDAPWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocolsKnowledge of CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log filesExperience with solving practical problems and system analysis of the IT infrastructuresExperience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environmentAbility to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment
