Responsibilities:
Meeting a wide range of KGM employee and community development needs by delivering the required competency improvement targets. Assisting KGM to achieve manpower skill requirements enable them to meet production requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner Manage the T&S Instruction and Evaluation Work Plan and Budget in consultation with the OHS Manager and KGM management to ensure the group’s services and products support both the T&S section and the KGM performance and productivity improvement efforts. Manage the T&S portion of the company staff and non-staff manpower management systems so all non-staff and staff employees are performance and competency managed using the correct systems and processes. Assisting community development to meet its human resource development commitments to the local communities adjacent to and within the concession area Managing the supervision of a wide range of learning situations that vary from “one on one” coaching to group delivery in both on and off job learning environments. Designing, creating, reviewing, evaluating and adjusting the content and rate of delivery of competency-based learning materials and assessment tools while consistently meeting the standards as outlined KGM Manpower Management policies and procedures
Qualification Requirements:
Diploma or degree in Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Management, Engineering or a related field Certifications in ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 with intensive auditing skills as internal and lead auditor as well as lead implementer
Experience and Skills Requirements:
10 years of experience in OHS systems and training coordination, preferably in the mining or industrial sector. Coaching Occupational health and safety systems implementation, Systems auditing, reporting and high-level presentations. Risk Management Attention to Detail: Ability to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Communication Skills: Proficiency in conveying safety information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including conducting training sessions and writing reports. Problem-Solving Abilities: Skill in analysing safety-related issues and developing effective solutions to mitigate risks. Leadership and Management: Capability to lead safety initiatives, manage teams, and coordinate training programs. Knowledge of Safety Regulations: In-depth understanding of local and international occupational health and safety laws and standards. Training and Development: Expertise in designing and delivering effective safety training programs to ensure workforce competence and compliance. Accountability: Holding oneself and others responsible for achieving high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Creative Thinking: Developing innovative solutions to enhance workplace safety and address emerging challenges.
