MUFG is looking for a skilled Vice President with extensive banking and program management experience to support the Know Your Customer (KYC) Processing within the First Line of Defense Control Office.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Management Information (MI) & Analytics who has overarching responsibility for the creation, production and distribution of reports to senior stakeholders in the business and Second Line functions.
The role is responsible for contributing to all aspects of the program development and ongoing management of existing MI and reports, including enhancements, business continuity management and oversight, audit and regulatory responses and ongoing monitoring and management of documentation of the process.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, and the candidate must have a well-organized and structured approach to managing large scale projects (plus small and medium projects), working with senior stakeholders and managing project managers and support resources.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, conducting and directing the analysis of business initiatives in support of impacted Financial Crimes Compliance systems and MIS
Planning and executing maintenance activities for applications to meet compliance and business requirements
Performing system design, development and support using Microsoft Access databases, VBA and VB. NET windows
Performing database design and development using SQL Stored procedures and custom SQL
Performing production release management
Supporting requirements gathering, analysis and documentation including business process analysis, SDLC and preparation of test cases (DUT, SIT and UAT)
Providing day-to-day system enhancements and governance support
Acting as the application lead, and/or assist in special projects and initiatives by planning, coordinating and executing technology implementations or integrations and resolving conflict and setting priorities
Leading and/or assisting in the gathering of business requirements and specifications for BSA/AML/OFAC systems and tools as well as the design of solutions/reports
Managing and coordinating the implementation of the rollout
Supporting enhancements to technology applications
Writing detailed analysis of user's needs
Presenting research and recommendation to management
Identifying solutions to unusual and complex problems requiring ingenuity, or innovative thinking
Monitoring implementation and user satisfaction
Implementing and validating business rules, developing sophisticated management dashboard /MIS reports, and performing ad hoc queries using querying languages, including SQL and Microsoft programming
Leading and assisting business user acceptance testing and data validation through direct interaction with business and technology partners including script development and issue resolution, and ensuring proper testing and procedures are followed
Providing subject matter expertise, models application, technical assistance, and training as needed
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
7+ years of experience in the financial service industry, in roles with increasing responsibility and scope relevant to governance or risk management.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk management, finance, or related fields.
Broad understanding of Financial Crime related concepts (AML, KYC, Sanctions, ABC)
Experience driving and shaping program strategy as well as the implementation of program uplift and change.
Strong knowledge of governance principles, frameworks and methodologies.
Experience coordinating and facilitating governance activities and forums.
Experience in working with policies, standards, procedures, process flows, and controls.
Proven track record delivering projects within time and budget.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to plan, manage and escalate risks/issues in a timely fashion to determine priorities, monitor potential impacts.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $130K - $165K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
