System Chair, Gastroenterology

We've made a lot of progress since opening the doors in 1942, but one thing has never changed - our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate.  We believe that every award earned, every record broken and every patient helped is because of the dedicated employees who fill our hallways.

At Ochsner, whether you work with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference and that matters.  Come make a difference at Ochsner Health and discover your future today!

Under the direction of the Regional Medical Director, the System Chair serves in a strategic leadership role. The System Chair will collaborate with senior leadership at a system and campus level to lead Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver quality care in a patient focused environment.

The Gastroenterology Service Line will be the latest service line to develop, joining a group of 15+ other specialties in service line function. Gastroenterology and Endoscopy are strategic foci for Ochsner Health and a place of significant patient demand. As a system department, the GI team delivers comprehensive care across Louisiana and Mississippi, with three academic medical centers and a quaternary referral center in New Orleans. Further engagement and leadership across two medical schools, internal medicine residency programs, and Gastroenterology fellowship programs are critical to our workforce strategies.

Gastroenterology at Ochsner Health involves physicians employed by Ochsner, academic physicians, and community physicians that work in both Ochsner and partner facilities. Regardless of the location or partnership construct, all are on the same instance of EPIC. As an energetic and innovative leader, the Chair will lead a highly engaged and academically productive group of more than 70 providers across more than 30 sites in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Like all physician leadership positions at Ochsner, the role has an administrative dyad partner.

· Promote the standardization of clinical processes and interoperability; adopt effective solutions and innovative patient care technologies, aiming to reduce care variations between facilities.
