Job purpose

This is an intern/co-op position for an Electrical or Computer Engineering Student at our Propulsion Technical Centre in Auburn Hills, MI.  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with testing, data collection and analysis, and reporting on results, writing requirements and returned parts analysis . In the event that the student is available for multiple terms/semesters (preferred), they will be given assignments increasing in responsibility as they progress towards their degree.

Key responsibilities

Assist with failure/root cause analysisAssist with urgent customer issues (returned parts analysis and tests)Translate Customer Requirements to BW System Requirements. Participate in requirements reviewsSupport the test engineer in creating and executing  test cases for the development projectsConsider and seek out the impact of his/her actions within the team.  Actively seek collaboration with internal and external team membersWilling to do some travel if necessaryPerform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

What we’re looking for

Student working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree  in Electrical/ Computer Engineering or Computer ScienceDemonstrates Problem Solving SkillsGood communication skills Proficiency with computer and MS Office products preferredSome knowledge of programming languages like C/C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW

He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
