*POSITION SUMMARY*
The System Director, IT Operations is responsible for providing thought leadership and direction for IT Operation support and engineering. This position creates a clear IT operational support strategy to support Health First’s mission and vision. This role leads the IT organization's operational support and engineering functions with a clear focus on quality of service, reliability, affordability, automation, site reliability engineering and innovation. The System Director leads a diverse group of engineering and operational managers with overall accountability for major incidents and problem resolution, site reliability engineering and observability, tier 2 infrastructure and platform engineering, and the customer support experience. This role maintains a constant awareness of stewardship and fiscal responsibility, balancing innovation with proven value to ensure appropriate investment and fit-for-purpose solutions.
*PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES*
1. Responsible for IT major incident management and problem management, production engineering, network operations and customer support experience teams.
2. Works with application directors, operational, and senior IT leadership to develop technology strategies that provide exceptionally reliable services.
3. Works closely with IT Cyber Wellness to ensure all production services are managed according to policy and industry standards.
4. Implements processes and practices to continuously improve service quality, performance, reliability, stability, and implements systems and structures to mitigate the potential impact of human error.
5. Leads and coordinates selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of our information technology operational solutions (incident response, monitoring, and instrumentation, AIOPs (AI for IT Operations), etc) and site reliability engineering.
6. Manages key vendor relationships in partnership with senior IT leadership and Supply Chain.
7. Develops and manages the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT engineering to ensure it is consistent with strategic objectives Works closely with the IT Cyber Security Engineering and Security teams to ensure all infrastructure systems are managed according to policy and industry standards.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS *
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Work Experience: Seven years of IT experience, with at least three years of
progressively responsible formal leadership experience (director or manager).
• Licensure: N/A
• Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Sigma or similar expert certification required within the first year of employment.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
o Ability to perform systemic, thorough problem solving and initiate problem resolution.
o Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with operational leaders.
o IT engineering managers, application directors and IT engineering staff.
o Able to lead and manage with data. Sets clear and achievable goals and infuses a data driven culture through the IT Technology teams.
o Experience driving organizational change with a keen focus on performance improvement.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*
• Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
• Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
• Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
• May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
• Workspace may vary from open to confined, on site or remote.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
