The leader will partner with human resources executives throughout Tufts Medicine to deliver a total rewards strategy. The role will also ensure that benefits programs are administered in compliance with organizational policies and government regulations. **Job Description** **Minimum Qualifications:** 1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. 2. Five (5) years of progressive experience in benefits administration. **Preferred Qualifications:** 1. Eight (8) years of progressive experience in benefits administration. 2. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP). 3. Workday experience. 4. Healthcare experience. **Duties and Responsibilities:** The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 1. Identifies and creates enterprise wide competitive benefits and a market differentiating total rewards strategy. 2. Develops and presents special benefits communications programs such as portions of the employee handbook, benefits bulletins, and communicating open enrollment periods. 3. Administers and analyzes various employee benefits programs; including medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, life and disability. 4. Develops company cost information for new plans and advises to management options concerning sharing of cost between employer and employee. 5. Assures benefit programs are consistently administered in compliance with organizational policies, reporting and government regulations. 6. Develops meaningful reporting statistics and census data for management, and provides analysis and appropriate recommendations/conclusions based on findings. 7. Supports and advises employees on matters related to benefits practices and policies to resolve issues and conflicts. 8. Works collaboratively with other functional areas (i.e., IT, Payroll) to ensure benefits goals are met and projects/changes are implemented smoothly. 9. Oversees the maintenance of benefits records, websites and HRIS benefit data to ensure accuracy and resolve any data integrity or processing issues. 10. Directs and supervises staff. 11. Manages stress appropriately, prioritize work schedule and collaborate with others. **Physical Requirements:** 1. Work environment: professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. 2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs and operate office equipment. 3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate and exchange information 4. Ability to see and read computers displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 6. Ability to work in confined or open environments. 7. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. **Skills & Abilities:** 1. Excellent interpersonal and consulting skills with the proven ability to build effective partnerships within HR and with Business leaders in order to effectively collaborate and recommend benefits solutions that solve business problems. 2. Strong communication including the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in simple terms to various audiences. 3. Strong project management and planning skills including the ability to lead, plan, organize and resource complex assignments. 4. Ability to deal with ambiguity and develop a course of action. 5. Advanced Excel skills and spreadsheet analysis with strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to build audience-specific presentations. 6. Exceptional presentation skills, excellent verbal and communication skills, and ability to motivate team members. **Job Profile Summary** ​This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and implementation of human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, mobility, talent acquisition, diversity, talent management & organization development and employee/labor relations. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following benefit duties: Designs, implements, and administers an organization's health and welfare benefits programs. Responsibilities also include plan design, communications, vendor partnerships, and costing solutions that align with Tufts Medicine's strategies to engage and retain talent. This role is also accountable to work collaboratively with leaders, legal, and key stakeholders to ensure compliance to all regulatory aspects of health and welfare and retirement plan benefits administration. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that directs a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include: ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department, problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis, and requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.
