Astria Health is seeking a System Director of Therapy Services  to join our team! 

 

The System Director of Therapy Services is responsible for the overall functioning of the Therapy Department including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Audiology programs. Responsible for ensuring departmental fiscal management, staff and team development, knowledge of current trends in healthcare, program planning and development, marketing, commitment of the QI process, strong organizational skills, and collaboration with other departments, medical staff and the community. Develop and implement services to community meeting the organization’s customer service standards. You will:

 

Directs the activities of the Therapy and Audiology programs including setting and evaluating annual department goals and action plans, consistent with organizational goals. Prepares and adheres to department budget and approves orders for equipment and supplies as authorized. Ensures staff providing patient care meet all requirements of that position, including employee health requirements, continual clinical competency and licensing, documentation requirements, use of equipment and infection prevention measures, and adherence to policies and procedures. Coordinates and provides supervision of the clinical practice of therapy students, ensuring the appropriate contracts are in place and a positive learning experience. Works under the guidance of Executive Leadership, and in collaboration with the Medical Staff and hospital leadership, to develop new or expand clinical programs. Participate in non-departmental committees as deemed appropriate by supervisor; leads/participates in the Astria Health Safe Patient Handling Committees. Review, develop and implement policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and forms in collaboration with the staff and leadership. Observes and evaluates program effectiveness and recommends changes to interdisciplinary leadership team and Medical Staff as needed. Maintains continuous quality improvement and customer service programs. Looks for and suggests ways to better meet customer requests and needs. Notifies appropriate person immediately of any problem jeopardizing positive customer relations. Participates in customer satisfaction goals.

 

Required Qualifications and Education.

Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor or Occupational Therapist Registered/Occupational Therapist Licensed or Doctor of Occupational Therapy Current Washington State License (Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist) Eight years’ experience as Hospital staff therapist Five (5) years’ therapy leadership experience. Oral and written fluency in the English language.

 

Preferred Qualifications and Education.

Working knowledge of The Joint Commission, Department of Health, and CMS Standards. Excellent clinical judgement. Critical thinking skills and judgement. Demonstrated skills in communication, conflict resolution, and budgets. Ability to prepare reports, analyze statistics, and objectively assess staff member performance.
