System EMS Operations Director

Job Description:

Baptist Health is recruiting a System EMS Operations Director to join our System EMS Department. This is a hybrid position that will require some travel throughout Baptist Health locations.

Organizes, directs and coordinates with market-assigned EMS Directors regarding the daily operations of Baptist Health EMS. Supervises and coordinates activities of leadership providing emergency medical services and other departmental operations to include non-emergency transports.

Essential Duties:

Working in conjunction with the System EMS Executive Director, assists in developing an annual operating budget and long-term capital expenditure plan as well as monitors the expenditures on an ongoing basis.Working with market assigned directors, manages staffing levels consistent with fluctuations in volume and/or acuity.In concert with our education contractor and market assigned directors, effectively manages and sets performance expectations for staff.Ensures proper licensure and credentials of staff on an ongoing basis.Ensures each market is prepared to provide for orientation, education, in service training and continuing education of all staff.Develops performance improvement measures and continually assesses performance against identified measures.Actively monitors and plans for compliance with state, federal and The Joint Commission requirements.Collaborates with System Executive Director to proactively assess the impact of legislation and management care developments on areas of responsibility.Supports hospital management decisions through communication with staff and execution of directives, i.e. takes accountability as a team member.Positions departments for future revenue growth, cost reduction, and quality improvement through ongoing, targeted initiatives.Works with staff to convey a clear vision of department direction, challenges and opportunities.Ensures strategic, operational, programmatic, and other plans and policies support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Master’s degree preferred.5-8 years recent experience managing an emergency medical services program.Kentucky EMT-P licensure or Kentucky EMT-Basic certification.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Financial and analytical skills highly preferred.
