Job Title: System Engineer Location: Redmond, WA Pay Range: $55/hr. - $62/hr. Duration: 11-month contract (Possible extension/conversion) Schedule: Monday–Friday, Core Hours, 5 days onsite Job Overview: Our client, a leading technology company, is seeking a System Engineer with expertise in EMI/EMC testing to join their engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with EMI/EMC lab software and test equipment, and the ability to conduct detailed electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing per industry standards. Top 3 must-have hard skills • EMI EMC testing • Familiarity with EMC Lab software such as TILE, BAT EMC, Elektra. • Familiarity with Python. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing on electronic devices and systems following standards such as FCC, IEC/EN 61000, CISPR32, ETSI, and RF testing. • Set up and operate EMI/EMC testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other related test tools. • Perform radiated and conducted emissions and immunity testing to ensure compliance. • Analyze test results, troubleshooting failures, and validate test setups. • Run iterative tests to identify root causes and validate hardware changes. • Document test procedures, results, and findings in detailed test reports. • Maintain the lab environment to ensure proper functioning and organization. • Travel to local test labs (within 30 miles of Kuiper facilities) and domestic third-party labs to facilitate and witness testing. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. • 3+ years of experience in EMI/EMC testing. • Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.). • Familiarity with EMC Lab software such as TILE, BAT EMC, and Elektra. • Proficiency in Python for automation and data analysis. • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
