The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex IT systems within a healthcare environment. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the MHS infrastructure and applications.   Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The System Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure supporting MHS applications. Key responsibilities include: Design and implement complex system architectures that meet the needs of MHS applications and users. Develop and maintain system integration strategies to ensure seamless operation across multiple platforms and technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design optimal system solutions. Implement and maintain system monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools to ensure high availability and performance. Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to optimize system resources and efficiency. Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical MHS systems. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve system performance and capabilities. Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, and runbooks. Participate in the change management process, assessing the impact of system changes and upgrades. Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain robust system security measures.
