R&D System Engineer/Architect – Job profile description
Activity in the frame of System Engineering for satellite communications (SATCOM)
targeted towards system networking.

Main Role (R&D):
The candidate has engineering skills in the field of SATCOM and network software necessary to
contribute to the implementation of new technologies for the deployment of satellite
constellations configured as networks and related protocols (5G NTN / 6G).
In addition to the above, the candidate has to have good curricular propensity for the
development of solutions and software in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that combines
well and completes the above.
However, knowledge of elements of satellite system communications is a preferential factor.
The role will be focused on E2E space systems and digital payloads suitable to host advance
protocols and processing capabilities for satellite constellation network implementation.

Experience/Qualifications
 Master’s Degree or equivalent in space systems Engineering preferred on satellite
telecommunication engineering,
 Knowledge of SATCOM network architectures :
o ISO/OSI Stack and related protocols (IP, TCP, UDP etc.)
o link budget and capacity assessment for TLC systems
o TLC waveform, ModCod as well as TLC standard protocol knowledge (5G, DVB-
S, etc.)
o Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and related measurement
o Integration and testing
o Quality control essentials
 Usage of SW analysis tools (MatLAB and/or SCILAB,STK, Satsoft, etc) is a valuable
asset.
 Experience in programming languages (Python, C/C++ etc.).
 English communications skills both written and spoken
 Willingness to learn new technologies and systems
 Ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse and international
team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team and individual
objectives and project deadlines
 Good analytical, organizational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to solving
problems and an interest in innovative technologies
 Great team working attitude.
