Are you someone who has experience in:

4 years Mainframe/ zOS experienceMainframe performance tuning and workload manager administrationMainframe capacity planningAbility to investigate and resolve relatively complex MVS/zOS incidents.Ability to plan and implement MVS maintenance changes.Ability to manage and implement all performance and charge back related projects.A good understanding of the mainframe environment including hardware, z/OS operating system, storage environment.Good understanding of JCL.Thorough knowledge and experience of IBM utilities and 3rd Party products on the mainframesExperience and knowledge of zOS performance especially WLM and SMF record analysisAvailability to do call-out.Availability to work maintenance slots.There may be a requirement for occasional travel to neighboring countriesOwn transport to work in different sitesKnowledge of SAS on zOS would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

To provide specialist high-level technical advice high-level problem resolution of complex problems system security policy implementation monitoringIncrease operational efficiency and suggest solutions to enhance cost effectivenessDeliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast end effectiveProvide secondly level standby and complex problem resolution by interfacing with vendor support to resolve complex application and system configurationsProvide specialist high-level technical advice for high-level problem resolution of complex problems by monitoring system security policy implementation.Assess, identify and mitigate potential risks within the IT system engineering environment and comply with governance in terms of legislative, audit and business policy requirements by drafting policies and procedures for the System Engineering EnvironmentManage systems by setting threshold measurements for capacity and infrastructure upgrades and suggest changesManage the System Efficiencies by suggesting and implementing efficient system changes based on research of new and existing technology to align with business needsSet timeline and methodology for system, release upgrades and build test packs for regression testing. Access and implement patches and Fixes in test environment and migrate to live.
