System Engineer

As a system engineer at Gallup, you’ll design, implement, monitor and maintain innovative technology systems that drive our mission forward. This role goes beyond traditional system administration. You’ll collaborate with senior architects to build and maintain infrastructure that empowers associates and delivers a seamless experience to external audiences. From deploying code-driven solutions to enhancing productivity through cloud technologies, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of how we work.

What you’ll do:

Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, stability and availability Design and deploy repeatable infrastructure solutions using IaC coding and CI/CD pipeline tools Administer Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online and related tools, including feature implementation, security policy management and system enhancements Build automation scripts using PowerShell, Terraform, Python or other scripting languages Support Active Directory, Entra ID, Hyper-V, Azure, storage and Group Policy troubleshooting Analyze systems to propose and implement changes that enhance reliability and performance Verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources and key processes Patch systems during scheduled downtime

What you need:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, MIS, information security or a related field or equivalent experience required At least one year of system administration or system engineer experience in AWS, Microsoft Cloud, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows Server environment, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID or SharePoint required Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking and common protocols required PowerShell, Terraform, Python or other language scripting skills preferred Understanding of multitier application architecture and technologies preferred Availability to work on-site at Gallup’s Omaha office at least three days a week required Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship

Gallup offers a robust benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance options; a 401(k) retirement and savings plan with company matching; and an employee stock ownership program. We also offer an estimated annual salary range of $55,000-$85,000 for this role. Salaries are based on a variety of factors, including an individual’s education, experience, skills and location.
