Job Title: System Engineer Location: Fairfax, VA Clearance: Secret Certifications: Able to obtain DOD 8570 IAT Level II Job Summary: We are seeking a System Engineer to define system components based on cost-benefit specifications, viable technology, and user requirements. The ideal candidate will design overall system layouts and interfaces, conduct testing to ensure compliance with security and quality standards, and collaborate with design and implementation engineers to develop efficient IT infrastructure solutions. This role also involves conducting usability tests, preparing cost estimates, and optimizing system designs using commercial off-the-shelf components. Key Responsibilities: + Define system components in accordance with cost-benefit specifications, technology viability, and user experience. + Design overall system layout and interface for managing system information. + Conduct security and quality assurance tests to ensure compliance with standards. + Collaborate with design and implementation engineers to develop system solutions. + Provide recommendations for IT infrastructure efficiency and optimization. + Conduct usability testing to verify user experience and validate system requirements. + Prepare cost estimates, including outlining system components required for implementation. + Analyze and integrate commercial off-the-shelf components to minimize costs. Required Qualifications: + Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in system engineering or a related field. An Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree will be considered as equivalent experience. + Clearance Requirement: Secret. + Certification: Able to obtain DOD 8570 IAT Level II. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in IT infrastructure design and optimization. + Strong understanding of system testing, quality assurance, and security standards. + Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams.
