What You'll Do
In the role of Systems Engineer: Architecting, your duties will include:
Develop and design high-level system architectures that meet project goals, requirements, and technical specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, system requirements, and operational goals.
Create and document system architectures, design specifications, and implementation strategies.
Ensure systems are scalable, maintainable, and adaptable to changing operational needs.
Analyze and address system constraints, performance trade-offs, and security considerations in the architecture.
Lead the integration of subsystems and technologies to create a unified system architecture.
Define system interfaces and ensure the interoperability of components within the architecture.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement and validate system architectures during development and deployment.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential challenges in the architecture.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams throughout the architecture development process.
Requirements:
Must be a US or Australian citizen
Must Possess an active US Top Secret/SCI w/ Polygraph or AUS PV Clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Must have 7 years of related experience supporting large systems and sub-systems.
Proven experience in designing and architecting complex systems, preferably in mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, architecture frameworks, and lifecycle management.
Expertise in system integration, interface design, and technology selection.
Ability to balance technical, operational, and strategic requirements in system design.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in system architecture (e.g., TOGAF, ISO/IEC standards).
Experience with modeling tools (e.g., SysML, UML) and architectural design tools.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex system challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
This role will be located in Alice Springs. This position is expected to be onsite 100%.
