As a Senior Network Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Senior Network Engineer joining our team to support USSOUTHCOM in the introduction and further development of a Mission Partner Environments (International & Interagency Collaboration), and the ultimate goal of transforming the mission critical expeditionary environments to cloud-based platforms. HOW A SYSTEM ENGINEER SR. ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT + Diagnose, Design, Document, and Implement evolving networks/architectures for hybrid on-prem-cloud-based operating models, ensuring interoperability, defensibility, high availability, scalability, and performance. + Collaborate with USSOUTHCOM Enterprise architects to understand the system requirements of hybrid on-prem-cloud-based Mission Partner Specific services and applications and develop infrastructure platform designs accordingly. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hybrid on-prem-cloud-based services with the existing infrastructure (at USSOUTHCOM and other Combatant Commands), ensuring seamless connectivity, interoperability, defensibility, and data flow. + Develop, implement, and maintain relevant documentation, guidelines, checklists, and policies to promote continuous interoperability, ensure and improve defensibility & cybersecurity compliance, and reduce the possibility of "human error". + Provision, manage, and operate hybrid on-prem-cloud-based public IP addresses, Bastions, Network Security Groups, Application Security Groups, Route tables + Provision, manage, and operate hybrid on-prem-cloud-based networking and system components and services using IaC (ARM templates, Azure Bicep, Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell, etc.) for Empower platforms, developers, and teams. Examples of services include hybrid on-prem-cloud-based Firewall, Gateways, Connections, VPNs, ExpressRoutes, Virtual Networks, SDN, and more **WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:** + Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field + Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience + Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems **Required Technical Skills:** + Certification Requirement: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or other Azure cloud based certification + 10+ years deploying, managing, supporting, and securing complex & diverse on-prem networks, environments, and workloads + **Certification** **Nice to Have** : Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or other cloud-based certifications + 1-3 years in an hybrid on-prem-cloud-based infrastructure engineering role + Strong understanding of core networking and connectivity topics surround internet-based applications (DNS, load balancers, VPN, VLAN, etc.) **Security Clearance Level** : Interim Secret to start, eventually capable of attaining TS/SCI **Desired** **Skills and** **Characteristics** **:** + Self-Starter, capable of focused and dedicated work as the End-to-End (E2E) SME for USSOUTHCOM’s “Mission Partner” System Environments & Associated Requirements + Enthusiastic learner with the ability to teach, mentor, and/or collaborate with teammates (in uniform, GOVT Civ, GDIT, and Subcontractors); and accross a diverse set of technical & functional vendors/partners + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail, and confidence in presentation **Preferred Skills,** **and Desired/Ideal Certifications** **:** + 10+ years’ IT experience + Relevant Certifications: [Note: not “All” are mandatory … this is desired] + VMWare Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) + Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert + Certified AZ-204: Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure + AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions **Location:** On Customer Site (Doral, FL) US Citizenship Required GDIT IS YOUR PLACE: ● Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home ● 401K with company match ● Comprehensive health and wellness packages ● Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career ● Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications ● Cutting-edge technology you can learn from ● Rest and recharge with paid vacation and holidays The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
