System Engineer Supervisor

Employees are required to: + Comply with all applicable safety and health-related rules, regulations, and procedures. + Work safely themselves and help their teammates work safely. + Assist supervisors and other managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions. + Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace. **Purpose and Scope** PSP is seeking a System Engineering (SE) Supervisor to join our Base Operations and Spaceport Services (BOSS) team, located at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The SE Supervisor will work closely with the SE Branch Manager to support and provide direction to a multidiscipline team of system engineers. This position will oversee all facets of mechanical, electrical, protective, civil\structural, HVAC, water, elevators system engineering at the Kennedy Space Center. Support will include mission support planning, OMD efforts, support to all Launch and Mission related activities. The candidate shall work with technical craft labor to maintain the overall health of assigned systems to ensure reliability and readiness of assigned systems at KSC. **Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities** **System Specific** Ensure root causes for Technical Anomalies are properly identified Ensure proper preparation of Technical Anomaly Level (TAL) reports and assure presentations are completed on time. Assist in Flow initiated In Flight Anomaly (IFA) issues Conduct monthly staff meetings and weekly SE Lead group discussions Ensure all Program Requirements Document (PRD) efforts and Data Requirement Descriptions (DRD's) are completed on time Prepare weekly TAL Status reports for Government meetings Prepare engineering manning schedules for operational support resource management for all SE tasks, assure engineers provide weekly status updates, and champion timely completion of tasks Utilize the BOSS award program to recognize System Engineers Ensure weekly Focus on Infrastructure and Risks to Mission (FIIRM) briefings are properly prepared Ensure submittal of the Culvert Inspection Report, Traffic Signals and Signs Report and the Corrosion/Paint Plan DRD reports in accordance with the PWS for content and timeliness. Ensure submittal of the TEMP quarterly DRD report meets the requirements of the PWS for content and timeliness. Oversee the development and submittal of Operations and Maintenance Documentation (OMD) within this System Engineering department to meet schedule metrics. This may include drawing/sketch updates, asset records, maintenance procedures, spare parts analyses, and outage impacts. **Readiness** Develop and present or represent mission related presentations to the NASA and/or EGS customer as required to present support readiness or failure concerns. Perform readiness assessments of assigned equipment and systems. **Project Support** Coordinate and work closely with requester, customers, other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from concept to final design and commissioning activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. Support development of technical proposals, statements of work and/or provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. Develop task order requirements to NASA to complete Operations & Maintenance Documentation (OMD) updates per specific, contracted timeframes. OMD updates could be on drawings or job plans for assigned equipment/systems. Coordinate and communicate effectively with CAD drafters, Design Engineers, or shop personnel by written or verbal means. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. **Education and Experience Requirements** Bachelor's Degree in a field is preferred, (Engineering degree and experience considered plus) and a minimum of 10 years job related systems experience. Ability to lead team resolution efforts to rapid conclusion. Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. Ability to read and interpret multi- discipline Engineering drawings. Good communication and analytical skills. Has a wide range of experience and uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. **Preferred Qualifications:** Minimum of 5 yrs. experience as a test conductor in a KSC Control Room environment is preferred (can be part of required 10 yr. min experience). Minimum of 2 yrs. Supervisory experience is preferred. (Can be part of required 10 yr. min experience). **Required Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Ability to exercise sound judgement and reason. + Strong ability to use data and analysis to make fast data-driven decisions. + Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. + Ability to read and understand schematics & blueprints. + Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. + Must possess general knowledge of office routines to include scheduling, general office administration, and a working knowledge of standard computer software. + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. **Other Requirements:** + All viable candidates must be able to obtain unescorted base access to the Kennedy Space Center. + Must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written in an effective manner. + May require some limited travel. + May require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. + Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the Kennedy Space Center + Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards; occasional lifting to 20 pounds; constant sitting with use of computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Field work will consist primarily of site walk downs in support of corrosion planning.
