System Integration EngineerJob Description The Avionics Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing aircraft avionics systems architecture, performing engineering trades to identify optimal architecture and hardware selections, deriving system performance requirements, communicating requirements to mechanical and electrical engineering team members, assisting in avionics systems testing, and assisting with avionics systems certification. The successful candidate will ensure requirements are effectively integrated into the system through purposeful architecture, design, development, and configuration. The Avionics Systems Engineer will employ strong technical, analytical, and creative skills to visualize, evaluate, and disseminate system engineering principles. Responsibilities + Develop aircraft avionics systems architecture + Perform engineering trades to identify optimal architecture and hardware selections + Derive system performance requirements + Communicate requirements to mechanical and electrical engineering team members + Assist in avionics systems testing and certification + Ensure requirements are effectively integrated into the system through architecture, design, development, and configuration + Research and identify potential solutions to meet design objectives + Work with other team members to verify design feasibility + Generate engineering documentation in accordance with industry standards and company procedures + Plan, execute, and report electronics testing using MIL-STD-810 and/or MIL-STD-461 Essential Skills + Electrical engineering + Systems engineering + Avionics systems + Solidworks + CAD software + System level design + Detail electrical design + Installation design + Communications systems + Weapon systems + Countermeasure systems + Aerospace Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with electrical systems and equipment + Experience with integration into legacy aircraft systems + Experience with aircraft such as c12, EC130, RC135, KC135, P3, C17, V22, H60 + Ability to work directly with the owner and understand the warfighter perspective + Strong communication and teamwork skills Work Environment They will be working in an office environment with a team. Flexibility on hours is required, with a typical schedule of 8-5. Due to business demands and deadlines, overtime and late hours may be necessary.
