We have an exciting opportunity for a System Manager Lead for Avionics Projects to join the team with Nexus, a teammate company.\n
The System Manager Lead for Avionics Projects will:\n

- Serve as the System Manager and Subject Matter Expert for two Avionic Projects in the Avionic System Division at NASA Johnson Space Center working with NASA's Commercial Partnerships\n
- Perform Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) activities including requirements, interfaces, verifications, and integrated performance throughout project lifecycle across internal and external organizations\n
- Assess and document design compliance of NASA agency project requirements to commercial providers\n
- Maintain and update requirements including Verification Requirements and Interface Requirements Documents\n
- Track and maintain requirement documents on task schedule\n
- Track and report financial data for the project to the customer in presentations and document tracking systems\n
- Support the verification activities including verification objectives and procedures, end to end testing development and reviewing Verification Completion Notices\n
- Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification\/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering tasks\n
- Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities\n
- Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with project requirements\n
- Participate and contribute to System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Mission Concept Reviews (MCR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR)\n
- Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance\n
- Perform other duties as required\n

- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.\n
- Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies including model-based systems engineering\n
- Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements\n
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.\n
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings\n
- Able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision\n
- Experience working in a team environment
