The System Manager Lead for Avionics Projects will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. \n
\n
RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nServe as the System Manager and Subject Matter Expert for two Avionic Projects in the Avionic System Division at NASA Johnson Space Center working with NASA's Commercial Partnerships.\nPerform Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) activities including requirements, interfaces, verifications, and integrated performance throughout project lifecycle across internal and external organizations.\nAssess and document design compliance of NASA agency project requirements to commercial providers.\nMaintain and update requirements including Verification Requirements and Interface Requirements Documents.\nTrack and maintain requirement documents on task schedule.\nTrack and report financial data for the project to the customer in presentations and document tracking systems.\nSupport the verification activities including verification objectives and procedures, end to end testing development and reviewing Verification Completion Notices.\nDevelop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification\/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering tasks.\nConduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.\nReview verification and validation reports to verify compliance with project requirements.\nParticipate and contribute to System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Mission Concept Reviews (MCR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).\nPerform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

REQUIRED:\n

\n\nThis position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information. \nRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering.\nMust have 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.\nKnowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies including model-based systems engineering.\nKnowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.\nKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.\n\n

WORK LOCATION: \n\nThis position is located onsite. \nThis position offers a 9\/80 schedule, every other Friday off\nThis position may require some travel. \n\n

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:\n

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:\n\nMust have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.\nAll of Bastion's employees must be team players. \nAble to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.\nAble to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.\nMust have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.\nMust be organized with good time management skills.\nGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). \nMay require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).\nRegular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.\nAbility to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.\n\n
