Engineering Manager III

Your role and responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for maintaining and improving the engineering systems with new product offerings based on R&D designs and customer needs for electrical equipment. You will work with Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Product Managers, and Manufacturing, within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts, & resolve issues.This is a part time role and the work model for the role is: onsite and some evenings and weekends may be required as part of production problem resolution, programming and inventory support (Li-Onsite) This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in Mebane, NC. You will be mainly accountable for:•Plan, organize, lead, and execute multiple small and large projects simultaneously while meeting target delivery dates, as well as developing user requirements, specifications, and structure for improving various applications, including, but not limited to Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP.•Design, code, test and implement new programs using various languages such as Visual Basic (VBA and VB.NET) and C#, using structured programming techniques and interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP team members to troubleshoot and drive timely resolution to system related issues.•Enhance mechanical configurator code and tables and electrical CAD tools for various product lines•Setup, maintain, and train users on engineering systems, as well as perform other duties within Engineering Systems as directed

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics)Minimum of 5 years experience with Low/Medium Voltage Electrical Equipment.Experience in Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and/or SAP.Working knowledge of SQL and database management and working knowledge of MS Office, Visual Basic (VBA and VB.NET), C#, and other software applications.Experience with Low/Medium Voltage electrical equipment (Switchgear, Switchboards, Motor Control Centers).Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
