System Safety Engineer
Exciting Safety Engineer Role Supporting Safety for Military & Defense Operations!!

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team. This role involves integrating product lines such as BM, C2, and Networks, and generating sections of capability specifications. The successful candidate will train less experienced personnel, review technical content, and act as a technical interface to MDA counterparts. The role requires independent completion of safety analyses including PHA and SSHA, and supporting updates to existing safety analysis reports (SARs).

ResponsibilitiesIntegrate product lines (BM, C2, Networks) into capability specificationsGenerate responsible sections of capability specificationsTrain less experienced personnel in SE and Safety techniquesReview content and details of technical productsAct as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterpartsComplete safety analyses independently, including PHA and SSHASupport the incorporation of updates into existing safety analysis reports (SARs)Develop program safety plans to provide the engineering team with safety policies and guidanceSupport MDA and other program personnel as requiredPerform other system engineering tasks as neededInterface with team members and National Team management to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within available resourcesRegular travel between Colorado Springs and Huntsville, AlabamaEssential SkillsBachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 7 years of experienceActive Secret ClearanceExperience in developing and integrating large-scale command and control and Battle Management SystemsSystem Engineering experience with specialization in system and software safetyProficiency in PHA, SSHA, SAR, and familiarity with MDA requirementsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to obtain TS/SCI clearanceWork Environment

This vital operational system enables strategic planning and dynamic management of missile defense operations. The position supports system safety engineering tasks for global system safety requirements analysis and is integrated into the I&T process. It involves infrequent travel (less than 10%) to Colorado and requires maintaining close communication with other system safety team members and leads.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $83.00
