System Validation Engineer

Mission of the Role: System Validation Engineer of Cluster (&Display) product. Support projects together with VJL and global Visteon teams (India).

Key Objectives of this Role:

Validation Design

Involve in Test Script Update and work towards Automation. Involve in Test procedure development for new and existing feature requirements. Need to identify typical Use Case Scenarios happening in vehicle and implement those use cases in internal test procedure.

Validation Execution

Perform Functional Black Box Testing of Cluster Features. Use of tools for Testing, Defects Management, Configuration Management. Work and collaborate internally within the team to deliver the Test scripts, procedures / Test Execution reports as planned. Perform testing of products in an iterative, agile software lifecycle Onsite Customer testing in vehicle or bench.

Defect Triaging and Analysis

Perform the reproduction testing for the issues reported by customer, triage, analyze (product behavior and debugging CAN/Ethernet log), and break down the possible root cause from requirement point of view. Participate in Defect Triage meeting and demonstrate the issues identified to Requirements & Development Teams. Explanation about Visteon's Internal test procedure/result to customer together with offshore team.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

Perform the task assigned in given time limit and provide the detail report with output. Be detail oriented and pursue for accuracy. Show 100% ownership on the assigned tasks and apply kaizen strategy to improve the process. Raise a flag immediately if any risk or issue is identified. Challenge to expand the capacity and show willingness to take over additional tasks. Be interested in the company’s business and dive into challenges.

Key Year One Deliverables:

Learn the internal system and process and drive the task according to it. Expertise the desired tools and devices required to perform the task. Gain high level of understanding about the internal specification and product behavior. Improve the existing manuals and procedures. Able to perform task individually with minimal external support. Own and resolve any software issues and concerns independently and involving other stakeholders as and when required. Successfully take over and own the assigned tasks.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

Have a knowledge of Software validation or development of embedded systems, automated testing for the Automotive products and experience for more than 5 years. Product level Knowledge and Requirement understanding of Cluster and Display projects or Product level Knowledge on Automotive Domain products - Driver Information and\or Infotainment. Understanding Customer Requirements (SPSS) / SRD documents. Excellent Functional Black Box Testing Knowledge Knowledge on Scripting (Python or VB \ Winwrap or CAPL or PERL) Good knowledge on Network Tools – Vector CANoE / CANalyzer, Test Simulation, Measurement and Trace Debugging. Knowledge on protocols – Communication (CAN, LIN) and Diagnostics Protocol (GGDS, UDS, KWP2000) Knowledge on process and able to demonstrate how it has been deployed in projects worked. Knowledge on Requirement Management Tools (Team Centre, Doors) Knowledge on Tools for Configuration Management, Defects Management, Peer Reviews of Requirements and Test procedures. Business level of Japanese and English
