Job Details Working with the System Chief Quality Officer, this position is accountable for the coordination and implementation of Quality Programs at the network level to ensure facilities follow the Catholic Health Quality Strategic Plan. The position will lead the Catholic Health Quality Department, with its supporting staff, in all efforts to meet the quality-related strategic objectives of the organization. General responsibilities include understanding the quality programs impacting the organization, developing strategic plans to address these programs, and implementing operational activities to mitigate any financial, regulatory, or patient safety risk to the organization. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for working in concert with the Chief Quality Officer to develop and implement the Catholic Health Quality Strategic Plan. Responsible for working in concert with the Chief Quality Officer to reduce patient harm and move the organization to a HRO (High Reliability Organization) designation. Responsible for ensuring all Catholic Health entities (Acute Care, Continuing Care, Physician Enterprise) adhere to the quality program requirements stipulated by associated regulatory bodies or healthcare partner-based entities. This includes maintaining current knowledge of program standards, educating staff on new standards or changes to program requirements, and ensuring operational activities are in place to meet program stipulations. Activities also include the development of plans and suggested actions needed to mitigate financial risks associated with Quality Payment Programs that Catholic Health entities participate in. Leads corporate-wide performance improvement committees as needed to support Catholic Health Quality Improvement initiatives. Participates in entity-specific Performance Improvement Committees. Performs as an active member of Steering Committees either in the capacity of Leader, Facilitator or Member, as assigned. Leads the Quality Department staff members in their efforts to ensure department meets strategic goals as established by Senior Leadership. Responsible for working in concert with the System VP of Risk Management and Quality Improvement on the system-wide patient safety initiative. Responsible for working in concert with the System VP of Regulatory to ensure entities meet CMS, DOH and TJC survey requirements. Participates in action planning related to survey findings or preventative measures, as needed. Member of the Quality Management Committee of the Board. Responsible for ensuring Quality data on the Catholic Health website is updated and relevant. Attends all required Catholic Health in-service and training programs and sessions. Demonstrates a courteous and professional demeanor, team spirit and the ability to work with office staff and all hospital personnel in a collaborative manner. Maintains, promotes and supports a professional working environment that fosters teamwork. Maintains strict standards for confidentiality of all correspondence and patient related information in addition to security of electronic (computer) information. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare management, quality or related field required. RN, NP, or DNP degree preferred. Understanding of current medical terminology and clinical practice required. Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Quality Management discipline in the Healthcare Industry. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership position in the Healthcare Industry. Strong background in statistical analysis and methods required. Skills: Subject matter expert for all Quality Programs that impact the Catholic Health (Acute Care, Continuing Care). Subject matter expert for data sources, data collection tools, and the development of data collection methodologies for the Catholic Health Quality Program. Knowledge of Robust Process Improvement Methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Change Management, etc.) Strong understanding of operations management methodology and techniques as they apply in the Healthcare industry. Demonstrates knowledge of Joint Commission, Federal, State and PRO regulations. Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, statistical, graphics, and word processing software applications essential. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of hospital staff in a verbal and written manner; possesses keen analytical skills and demonstrates ability to be very organized; and effectively plans projects, workflow activities, and assignments. Salary Range USD $260,000.00 - USD $300,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
