Systems Administrator, Workplace Technology Operations

About the Job

The Red Hat Workplace Technology Operations team is looking for a System Administrator with Google Workspace experience to join us in our Raleigh, North Carolina office. In this role, you will assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining a dedicated Google Workspace environment conforming to Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements. Additionally, you will provide essential support/solutioning for Red Hat's critical IT infrastructure, applications, and core services, specifically associated with mail infrastructure and routing. You’ll focus on solutions and technology areas like virtualized hosts, containerization, email, data storage, backup and recovery, resiliency, mail endpoint systems and routing, etc. Additionally, you will research new technologies and leverage optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.

What You'll Do

Deploy, configure, document, and manage a dedicated Google Workspace environment conforming to Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements.

Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.

Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use

Deploy infrastructure with Ansible Automation Platform both on premise and within AWS EC2

Troubleshoot and manage architecture within Workplace Technology and the larger organization.

Assist in innovation through the use of Red Hat’s technologies that are new or still in the development pipeline

Assist with the management of our mail routing architecture, mail endpoint services, and various spam prevention/email security tools and services.

Resolve bugs, performance problems, and other issues with production applications and services.

What You'll Bring

3+ years of experience working as a support, sustaining, or development engineer or other directly related experience

Professional Google Workspace Administrator certification (or equivalent) with 1+ years Google Super Administrator experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, information technology or a related field

Linux system administration experience, including system installation, configuration, and maintenance

Advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills, with a passion for problem solving and investigation

Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Fundamental Linux troubleshooting skills

Working technical knowledge of coding languages like Ansible, Python, and shell scripting

Basic knowledge of Linux (RPM based), postfix, spam controls, network protocols, and Linux file structure

Experience with Git

Possess the ability to obtain a clearance

The following is considered a plus:

Knowledge and/or experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 1.0 or 2.0

Knowledge of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) cybersecurity standards.

Red Hat certifications such as Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Ansible Automation

Familiarity with technologies like Kubernetes, Linux Containers, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or Ansible Tower, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2.

The salary range for this position is $74,900.00 - $119,830.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
