Job Summary of the Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator will support the efficiency, stability, and delivery of Axogen’s enterprise applications at the new biologics processing center in Vandalia, Ohio. This role will focus on providing backend and end-user support, assisting with application maintenance, server and endpoint configuration, and contributing to system documentation in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This person will have a strong understanding of IT support practices and be proactive in delivering excellent service and operational support to our business partners.

Requirements of the Systems Administrator

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar and minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an IT business analyst, systems administrator, or similar field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, equivalent combination of education and related experience will be required i.e. Associate degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience. High school diploma with a minimum of 9 years of experience. Life sciences and/or pharmaceutical industry experience or knowledge preferred. Experience with Intune management principles and service desk level 3 escalation support highly desired. Ability to analyze, diagnose, replicate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues. Ability to operate independently, track and report progress, and recommend optimal approaches to business problems. Manage multiple projects and priorities and operate with poise under pressure. Proactive, action-oriented, and able to push forward in ambiguous environments. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. Exceptional communication skills, team attitude, and a core goal of operational excellence.

Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator

The specific duties of the Systems Administrator include but are not limited to:

Supports administration of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Windows Desktop environments under the guidance of senior staff. Assists with the lifecycle management of servers and workstation hardware, including deployment, OS updates, patching, and basic security configurations. Provide hands on operational and deskside support for escalated service desk requests. Supports internal enterprise applications: (Life sciences manufacturing systems, environmental monitoring systems, clinical operations application suite like Veeva, Donor management systems etc.). Collaborates with process owners and stakeholders on continuous improvement projects in order to implement new systems and/or optimize existing systems in terms of performance, functionality and data integrity. Assists in root cause analysis for application-related issues and supports the implementation of corrective actions. Contributes to the design of architecture, features, and enhancements. Coordinates with vendors and business teams to prioritize upcoming fixes and patches, conduct periodic reviews, manages alerts and reporting of systems, implements additional monitoring tools and actively reviews dashboards and reports. Communicate effectively and consistently with system stakeholders and users at all levels about issues and requests. Helps to gather business requirements including leading design sessions for new implementations or optimizations of business processes, operations, and process flows. Performs data inquiries, extracts, reports, and uploads in support of operations, customer support and system integrity. Automates workflows using tools like Microsoft PowerAutomate, Microsoft Flow, and Powershell. Supports training efforts by helping to communicate system changes or procedures to impacted departments. Helps identify and resolve basic system or procedural issues and escalates complex issues appropriately while keeping users informed.

This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Salary Range$74,307—$92,883 USD

Axogen follows healthcare system guidelines with respect to credentialing, vaccinations and other employment/compliance related requirements, as well as CDC guidance. Axogen reserves the right to amend its policies from time to time in its sole discretion.
