Systems Administrator
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and security of all systems and networks. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components. Ensure systems are updated, patched, and running efficiently.Network Administration: Manage and troubleshoot network components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs. Ensure network security and optimize network performance.User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues. Assist with the setup and maintenance of user accounts, permissions, and access controls.Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions. Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and testing of recovery procedures.Security Management: Monitor and enforce IT security policies and procedures. Protect systems and networks from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency. Use monitoring tools to ensure uptime and reliability of all systems.Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Ensure documentation is accessible to relevant team members.Hardware and Software Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software. Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and organizational policies.Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for hardware, software, and service procurement. Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely resolution of issues.Project Support: Participate in IT projects, providing technical expertise and support for system upgrades, migrations, and other initiatives. Collaborate with other IT team members to achieve project goals.Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance IT infrastructure and improve processes.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.3+ years of experience in systems administration or a related role.Proficiency in Windows and/or Linux server administration.Experience with network administration and troubleshooting.Knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
