**Systems Administrator** **Category:** Service Desk / End User Services **Main location:** United States, Louisiana, Lafayette **Alternate Location(s):** United States, Virginia, Fairfax **Position ID:** J1224-0864 **Employment Type:** Full Time **Position Description:** The Systems Administrator is part of a team responsible for providing support for our corporate and project-based systems infrastructures. Our primary charge is the support of the systems that our employees rely on for their own day to day operations. We are looking for someone that can troubleshoot and solve problems in a growing Microsoft Windows, VMWare, and cloud based environment. This position can be located in our Lafayette, LA office or Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. **Your future duties and responsibilities:** • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software. • Lift 50 pounds of equipment into and out of server racks. • install/upgrade hardware components into servers. • Monitor server performance and optimize server resources. • Troubleshoot and resolve server issues in a timely manner. • Implement and maintain server security measures, including firewalls and user access controls. • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure server integration and compatibility. • Document and maintain server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users. • Stay up to date with the latest server technologies and industry trends. • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of systems and virtual infrastructure. • Actively monitor ticketing systems and email for new support inquiries and requests. Respond to issues in a timely manner, communicate necessary information to relevant support teams & impacted staff, and document resolution. • Strong data gathering and reporting skills to support ad-hoc data requests. • Possesses the knowledge and experience in troubleshooting production systems issues and act as an escalation point for other members. • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis and as required when issues arise. • Provide monthly maintenance to servers on a rotational basis as required. • Assist in the automation of currently manual repetitive tasks. • Complies with and enforces standard company policies and procedures. **Required qualifications to be successful in this role:** Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of experience or equivalent experience in lieu of education. In addition: • Extensive experience in a Microsoft Windows Active Directory based enterprise environment. • Experience in a MS O365 environment. • Experience in a largely virtualized environment. • Familiarity with server hardware components and configurations. • Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts. • Familiarity with server monitoring tools. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Working admirative knowledge of several core Microsoft applications (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, SharePoint). • Experience with PowerShell scripting in a production environment. Desired • Experience with compliance standards and security best practices (ITILv3, NIST guidelines, CIS benchmarks, DISA STIGs, etc.) a plus, but not required. • EMC & Pure Storage arrays • CommVault • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager • McAfee ePO CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $55,700.00 - $137,100.00.
