Leidos is currently seeking Systems Administrator to work in our Bowie, MD office.
The candidate will be part of an IT and Information Assurance team responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, configuration management, monitoring, and troubleshooting of an expanding wide area network infrastructure supporting a multi-platform, multi-site, high availability, secure, real-time network. The work to be performed will require that the candidate be able to work comfortably at several levels of support from resolving system administration problems, through the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual servers and services. Provide updates to ISSM for strategic planning purposes.
Projects and tasks will be assigned and at times self-initiated requiring independent judgement in balancing of resources, schedules, work hours, as well as travel to regional sites to obtain results. Work will require ability to manage the risk for servers and workstations.
Primary Responsibilities
The selected individual will be responsible for performing daily system administration and O&M support activities in support of a complex physical and virtual environment for a geographically distributed system. The position entails the daily sustainment of existing computing and network systems at various locations. Will be responsible for monitoring infrastructure systems, applications, and processes, and for ensuring that all issues are identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner. Individual will provide support for all infrastructure systems and will respond to hardware and software incidents impacting local users as well as working with and taking direction from ISSM.
Additional responsibilities include:
Working with other system administrators and technicians in identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting hardware and software issues including network connectivity.
Providing hands on technical assistance in support of overlapping projects and maintaining good inter-departmental relations.
Communicating with users and publishing status of any system outages, as needed.
Proactively contacting customers when infrastructure processes are significantly delayed or may impact their ability to complete a business function on time.
Executing the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans for these systems in order to rapidly and accurately identify and remediate IAVAs.
Initiating IAVA responses and system security scans; completing remediation; extending IAVA patches and security updates on various IT and network systems.
Participating in the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation to ensure clear, concise and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolution.
Providing support for implementing IT enhancements and undertaking project work.
Handling IT Help Desk calls and emails, ensuring all interactions are handled timely and in a professional manner.
Utilizing enterprise monitoring solutions to identify alarms that have been triggered against the environments.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience
Must have experience performing system administration tasks that includes installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, patching: Windows operating systems, VMware, Active Directory, DNS, Lync, Dell Power Edge Servers, Backup Servers, File Storage.
Must have technical experience troubleshooting IT software programs for Windows Server 2018 and 2022 operating systems, VMware, Windows Active Directory, Windows DNS, Windows Lync, Dell iDRAC, Dell Open Manage, Backup Exec, and File Storage.
Must have technical experience monitoring IT hardware and software utilizing Dell iDRAC and Dell Open Manage.
Must have experience with applying the DISA STIGS.
Must have experience with IT system optimization, monitoring, and/or other technical set-up and troubleshooting.
Must have experience providing information for and documenting technical processes.
Must be capable of responding very quickly to management and customer inquiries in a clear, concise manner, to include providing detailed and comprehensive status reports and follow-ups.
Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.
Must possess strong analytic abilities and must be meticulous in their work..
Must be able to respond to system administration, operations, and maintenance problems on an as-needed or on-call basis.
Must have an active Secret clearance.
Certifications:
Must have VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE) within 6 months of hire date.

Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
