Description We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator with a strong background in systems management and a solid understanding of security protocols. This individual will play a key role in the design, deployment, and management of our infrastructure while ensuring the security of our network and systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing enterprise-level systems, automation, and security frameworks to protect our organization from evolving cyber threats. Lead and manage the organization’s server infrastructure, including Windows Server, Linux systems, and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Administer and maintain systems including backups, disaster recovery, monitoring, and patch management. Implement and manage system-level security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), encryption, and antivirus solutions. Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and patch management to ensure security compliance with industry standards (NIST, CIS, etc.). Monitor network performance and availability to ensure optimal operation of servers, applications, and network resources. Assist in implementing and maintaining network security policies, including role-based access control and least-privilege models. Manage and administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and other identity management tools. Automate system tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to improve efficiency and streamline processes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and security issues while providing guidance to entry level administrators. Collaborate with the IT security team to support incident response, including identifying and mitigating potential security risks. Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to entry level systems administrators and other IT team members. Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in systems administration and security. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration (Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, etc.). Proven experience with network security and systems hardening techniques. Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection. Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and hybrid cloud environments. Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery processes. Proficient in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.). Understanding of security frameworks and best practices (NIST, CIS, etc.). Experience with vulnerability management tools and patch management systems. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex system and security issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
