Systems Administrator
Job Summary:
Systems Administrator (Troy, MI, or other unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.) Responsibilities include: Designing cloud-based environments in preparation for product deployment and managing secure access to SaaS based applications. Deploying virtual machines in any of the 3 cloud vendors (Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure). Deploying end to end data management to cloud environments above using Docker and Kubernetes. Troubleshooting issues that arise within these environments by inspecting the native administration console of each cloud vendor, virtual machines, Linux OS, python scripts, etc. Providing user specific access to SaaS based project management and development tools including JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket Server, GitHub, Slack, Webex, G-Suite, Microsoft apps and Harvest via SSO and LDAP. Performing upgrades to Bitbucket and Jira Servers based on the newer versions released. Establishing cloud operating budgets across the company and monitoring actual billing using cloud monitoring tools like Datastudio in GCP. Using custom Bash and Python scripting to monitor activity across all active cloud instances to ensure cloud resources are limited to service level agreements with our customers and reduce costs (for example, instance only runs during USET business hours). Working with Docker containers and Kubernetes in deploying applications. Documenting and continuously enhancing best practices for administration and usage of cloud resources in Atlassian Confluence. Monitoring customer support tickets that are filed via JIRA Service Desk and providing resolution within customer service level agreements.
Education/Experience Required:
M.S. in Computer Science or closely related and 12 mon exp in the position offered. 12 mon. in: Phyton scripts; Linux OS; Bash scripts; Atlassian JIRA/Confluence; Bitbucket/GitHub; GSuite; LDAP; AWS; Azure; GCP; IAM; S3; VPC Network; Container Registry/Billing; Kubernetes; Docker. Telecommuting permitted. 10% Domestic Travel. 40 hrs/wk. 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
