Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0009013 Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 Position Summary/Description: This position is a 100% remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Systems Administrator is one of the admins for the UNC Microsoft 365 service backing up the Senior Global Systems Administrator and the M365 Team lead. This platform is integral to the day-to-day business of UNC Chapel Hill and is critical for the entire University population to do their jobs. Additionally, this position administrates Microsoft Email and Identity security for UNC Campus email systems, backing up the Senior Global Systems Administrator. This position backs up the M365 team lead in managing Microsoft 365 AI capabilities for all of UNC campus. This position is also one of the admins for the UNC Listserv Service which supports over 5000 production email lists. The position supports, updates, and improves all existing Listserv service components and acts as one of the liaisons to campus for Listserv services. Finally, this position develops, implements, and supports automation and scripting for the ITS Systems Administration team. A qualified candidate understands Microsoft 365 Administration, Exchange, M365 email and identity tools, M365 AI technologies, Lyris Listserv, scripting and development principles to automate platform management. Education and Experience: The following experience is preferred: - Prior Experience Administrating Electronic Mail Identity and Security tools - Ability to write scripts and code to automate repetitive tasks using tools such as powershell - Experience with Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud services – Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS - Prior Experience supporting Lyris Listserv - Prior experience in higher education - Prior experience in a large IT environment Essential Skills: - Understand complex IT environments and dependencies: cloud-based platform management, networking knowledge, software integrations - Prior experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Active Directory - Ability to collaborate effectively with a motivated team - Excellent written and oral communication skills AA/EEO Statement: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
